Building Arts Developments is a boutique development firm established in 2018 and specializing in the creation of unique seasonal dwellings that respond to and are inspired by their specific natural setting. After 18 years leading the Toronto architectural studio Building Arts Architects, and over 25 years experience in the industry, Jason Smirnis, David Jensen and our team at Building Arts have applied their combined experience and passion to the craft of building within the rugged beauty of the Algonquin Highlands and Kawagama Lake.

Our first development project is a 22-acre site which was subdivided into four private 5.5 acre lake-front properties as featured on this website. Construction of a road connecting each property to Maple Ridge Road began in 2019 along with site clearing and all required planning approvals. River Bay Lakehouse 1 located on Lot 2, completed construction in the fall of 2023 and will be available for sale in the spring/summer of 2024.

The Building Arts team is currently in the process of designing and planning for the construction of River Bay Lakehouse 2 which will be located on Lot 1.
